KING WHIRL

Whirl is a fierce activity around a central emptiness.  In Greek mythology King Whirl defeats Zeus, but he cannot replace him. King Whirl makes men temporarily forget their emptiness, but he can never replace or fill it...

Whirl is one of Satan's most successful tools against us. He whips up a strong sense of importance with his fierce activities, and then, caught up in his power, we forget the emptiness he conceals. Jesus told Martha that there was really only ONE THING THAT WAS NECESSARY. Coming to rest at Jesus' feet and listening to Him, furnishes us that which cannot be taken away. It fills our emptiness and frees us from the tyranny of the urgent. King Whirl is threatening you with his lists of activities. But take time to sit at Jesus feet and listen to the ONE THING that will not leave you empty.
