The Frankincense & Myrrh band formed in 1977 with musicians from His Way Ministries (Faith Christian Church), Nick Champlin, Tom Totton, Chris Dunn, Kathy Champlin, and Ginger DeNeen. An early forerunner of the group included Katie Hahn, and Jean Scannell (Drelich) later replaced Ginger DeNeen. From 1978 to 1982 the band took their original songs of praise & worship to universities and college campuses, special events, and churches around New England and New York. Tom and Nick's writing reflects the intensity of devotion indicative of the Jesus Movement that birthed His Way Ministries (renamed Faith Christian Church in 1980), and the revival it touched off in New England. Those days are referred to with great fondness by many as a spiritual Camelot.
